About

An Internet Exchange built by network engineers, for the open internet.

DATAHUB-IX was founded on a simple idea: the internet works better when networks are one cross-connect away from each other — not three transit hops.

Mission

Lower latency. Lower transit. Higher resilience.

We operate a carrier-neutral switching fabric where networks of every size — from regional ISPs to global hyperscalers — can interconnect on equal terms. We don't sell IP transit, we don't resell capacity, and we never compete with our members.

DATAHUB-IX is governed by a member-elected technical committee. Architecture decisions, peering policy and pricing are debated in the open and published ahead of changes.

Built on Juniper, Arista and Cisco silicon, with redundant route servers per region, RPKI ROV enforced, and a public Looking Glass for transparency.

Timeline

From one PoP to global fabric.

Six years of carrier-neutral peering.

  1. 2024
    Founded

DATAHUB-IX incorporated. First switching gear racked in Falkenstein.

  2. 2025 Q1
    First fabric live

Falkenstein PoP operational with founding members.

  3. 2025 Q3
    Nordic + Alpine

Helsinki and Zurich PoPs added. Inter-PoP backbone over redundant 100G waves.

  4. 2026 Q2
    Hub expansion

Frankfurt and Amsterdam PoPs in build-out — peering with the major European IXPs.

  5. Soon
    Central Asia

Almaty and Astana PoPs under deployment to bridge EU and CIS traffic.

Member-governed

Technical committee elected from member networks. No external shareholders dictating policy.

Operationally boring

We optimize for predictability over novelty. Change windows are announced 14 days in advance.

Open by default

Open peering on route servers. Public peering policy. No NDAs to read pricing.
