Zurich PoP is live — DATAHUB-IX now spans three Alpine-Nordic regions

Today we lit our third European PoP at Interxion ZUR1. Zurich joins Falkenstein and Helsinki on the shared LAN-1 fabric, with sub-15ms latency between all three.

Today we are happy to announce that the DATAHUB-IX PoP at Interxion ZUR1 (Zurich) is officially live and accepting peering sessions.

This is our third European PoP. Members in Falkenstein and Helsinki now reach Zurich (and each other) via 100G dark-fiber waves with sub-15ms RTT, on the same shared LAN-1 fabric — no policy gymnastics, no inter-PoP transit fees.

Why Zurich

Switzerland sits between two of Europe's busiest fibre triangles (Frankfurt-Milan-Geneva-Marseille and Zurich-Vienna-Munich) and hosts a uniquely diverse mix of clouds, content and finance. Adding Zurich gives our members a low-latency on-ramp to:

  • Swiss Cloud (CSP, Aspectra) and the SDX trading data feeds
  • Banking and insurance enterprises looking for direct peering with hyperscalers
  • Eyeball networks in DACH/IT that prefer a Swiss-jurisdiction interconnect

What's available

  • 1G / 10G / 100G ports
  • Two redundant route servers: rs1.zrh.datahub-ix.net (185.1.42.33) and rs2.zrh.datahub-ix.net (185.1.42.34)
  • Cloud Connect virtual circuits to AWS DXCON-ZRH and Azure ER Zurich
  • Colocation in 1U–full-rack increments

What's next

Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Almaty and Astana are under deployment. Frankfurt is targeted for Q3 — it will bring direct fabric-to-fabric peering with DE-CIX and connectivity to the major German eyeball networks.

If you'd like a port in Zurich, the order form is at /contact and turn-up is typically 5–10 business days.
